Due to over 30 years experience in engineering, real estate and business transactions and nearly 20 years experience in representing the business and personal interests of our clients, we have seen many different types of problems and situations and experienced a range of outcomes. Although we cannot guarantee any outcomes, we can assure you that we will obtain a thorough understanding of our clients’ situation, propose thoughtful and detailed strategies to accomplish the clients’ goals, and apply our practical business experience to aggressively apply those strategies. As business owners ourselves, we understand that this approach means nothing if accomplishing these goals is not balanced with a desire to minimize costs, stress, and to complete the tasks as efficiently as possible.
How we’re different
We are multidisciplinary and we are solution oriented. On behalf of our clients we have litigated numerous contract and other civil matters; re-zoned, permitted and developed numerous projects; appeared before numerous code, licensing and administrative boards. As an owner, we have built numerous real estate development projects and have been involved in alternative fuel development. As a result of this broad experience, this office has developed the belief that among reasonable people, there is always a solution. Conversely, when you encounter an unreasonable adversary you need to be sure your representative has the experience, tenacity and ability to effectively represent your position.
Don’t over react, there is probably a reasonable solution. This office brings two unique perspectives to serving our clients. The first is that the principal has the dual education as a scientist and as a lawyer. We work hard to apply logic, evidence, structure and a reality based practical application of facts to any problem. The second is that we have the experience based on filling the different roles in business from employee, consultant, owner, investor, partner and litigant. These experiences have provided us with the understanding, first hand, of the stresses, costs, frustrations and issues involved in accomplishing goals and solving problems. When clients are involved, the issues are not theoretical, they are personal.
About James M. Vernon
James M. Vernon graduated from the University of Florida in 1981 with a degree in Civil Engineering. In 1984, he founded Anclote Engineering, which remains a licensed engineering company. He became a licensed and registered Florida professional civil engineer in 1986 and has been involved in engineering and real estate development ever since.
